earthquake and tsunami

Dear Cyril,
I hope you are safe, and the lines of communication open for this mail to reach you.
Have been in touch with the the local Japanese friends here - with concern and prayers for their loved ones, even as each is glued to Japanese TV on the internet and whatever possible lines of communication to the near and the dear back home!
A difficult time for those cut off, or with no news... and those hit by the tragedy. The real impact, and magnitude in terms of injury, loss of life and damages in the aftermath, will be known only over the next few days.. My homage to all who have lost their lives and a prayers for succour to the survivors, who are struggling with the calamity.
A time for prayers and solidarity. I join all as we pray for the people of Japan - as one of the worst natural disasters in history has devastated the nation.
With deep concern,
Maxie
