Hi Maxie,
While I appreciate Leo's painstakingly written comments on the tentative Reunion Programme to Arun and I do endorse them, I fully second the views expressed in your letter.
Let us go to basics. In the first letter shot from the HQ it was clearly indicated that any phone calls (queries also I suppose) in the matter should be addressed to Harry - the Convenor. The Q. is whether this was actually done or not. Unfortunately, as I heard from Harry himself in my last month's visit, it was not so. Feelings apart, getting the act together at this juncture is of primary importance. And here we stand.
An event like this needs a leader and a core committee to get into action. Arun, one of the "great Four" floated a Form to be filled in, 2 months ago. If I am not mistaken only less than 5 have done the needful so far which conversely amounts to lack of interest?
I feel the need of the hour is:
1. Ascertain from the Forms filled in, how many can and will attend.
2. Have an approximate budget for the expenses for the centrally drawn programme after amalgamating all suggestions.
3. Inform each one about their approximate contribution and programme details.
4. Get batchmates' personal final confirmation before paying the advance payments.
With warm regards,
Peter
